Memoir

Wendy Williams will spend her residency in Marin County, California, where she lived in the ’70s in Synanon, The People Business, a rehabilitation and lifestyle community, which no longer exists. Her memoir of this period, the writing of which is re-sparked by the award, will portray Synanon as a healing community, contrary to its reputation as a cult, and her coming out as a lesbian in this heterosexual environment.
