Increasing Access to International Study

The Olseth Family Foundation has been an avid supporter of enriching students through study abroad experiences. Since the 2016 initiation of the International and Off Campus Study Opportunity Fund at St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota, more than 100 students have had the opportunity to participate in international study programs.

By providing much-needed financial assistance to students with an interest in studying abroad, this scholarship promotes equity of access for under-resourced students to these academically rigorous life-changing opportunities.

Research has shown, off-campus study is a high-impact academic practice that deepens engagement in student learning and strengthens learning outcomes. Students who study abroad undergo increased academic commitment, personal growth, intercultural development and are better prepared for a complex, changing employment marketplace and world.
