Celebrating and Uplifting Native Culture

The Minneapolis American Indian Center celebrates and uplifts Native culture by providing educational, health, employment, and social services to the Twin Cities urban Native community. The center is a community hub with more than 29,000 people participating in a wide variety of programs and many more visiting this architectural gem for events, art shows, and to dine at the Gatherings Café.

The Olseth Family Foundation is honored to support MAIC’s promotion of Native culture and arts, Dakota and Ojibwe language learning courses, monthly Family Fun Nights and annual powwows. In addition, a portion of the Foundation’s support provides connection of Native culture and ceremony for approximately 1,000 persons during the annual Indigenous People’s Day celebration via livestream technology. Easy access to connectivity ensures participation regardless of one’s ability to attend an in-person Twin Cities event.
